Overview
Your feet are one of the most abused parts of your body, and also one of the most neglected, according to MassageDen.com. They carry all of your weight around everywhere you go, and over time become tense and sore. Your feet contain many pressure points and are a prime massage location. Foot massage may be soothing, calming and sensual. Many times, any pressure on your feet is welcome, but by learning specific foot massage techniques, the experience is even more enjoyable.

Step 1
Hold the foot in your hands and pull the skin down in one direction to either end, with firm pressure. Focus on the inner center of the foot and create a rhythm as you massage.

Step 2
Place your thumbs on the bottom of the foot, with the toes pointing upward. Walk your thumbs up the bottom of the foot with firm pressure. Be mindful of the tendons along the sides and top of the foot.

Step 3
Pull and rotate each toe individually, with gentle pressure. Alternately, grasp all of the toes at once and squeeze gently as you pull them out.

Step 4
Hold the top of the foot in one hand, with the bottom facing you. Place your fist on the sole of the foot and knead it like it were a ball of dough. Move the knuckles around the entire surface of the sole of the foot. Start light, and modify your pressure according to what your subject can take.

Step 5
Cup the foot in your hands and squeeze it as you move your hands up and down. Make firm circles with your fingers around the ankle joint and Achilles tendon.
