Setting the Perfect Environment for a Massage

A massage is a sensual experience and it is one of the most intimate experiences that one can share between two people. When one gets a massage he experience soothing movement of dexterous hands that move slowly up and down the body, kneading muscles, breaking down knots and making a person feel good.

Before one can feel good with a massage the tone must be set. You cannot go into a massage and just start the rub down. The mood has to be set in order to be effective because it would not come out as effective as it should be. Before anything, the stage had to be set.

A massage can be very soothing and sensual but before anything, the environment must be optimal to achieve what you want in your massage. The key to a perfect environment is by making it work for all of the senses. Sensual massage appeals not to one but all five senses.

The great environment for a massage starts with the ears. This does not mean you massage the ears first but instead provide soothing music that will help the person receiving the massage. The sense of hearing is one of the most powerful senses and it lasts the longest.

Create the mood by plugging sound that is soothing. Soft classical music is a great way to help people relax. If you do not have a music player close by, you can simulate the sound of rain or wind blowing through grass. The soft gentle sound of water falling on a fountain is also a good way to create a sound environment that is relaxing and soothing.

Our sense of sight is an important factor in getting a great massage. It is the sense that we rely on most in our daily lives. It is important to us to make use of this sense but if we overuse it during the massage, you run the risk of overloading our senses and distracting you from the massage itself.

Darkness is too much and can be too stressful for the person receiving the massage. Instead of eliminating light, it would be wise to use only little light like the light from a lava lamp or scented candles.

Scent plays a big part in the massage itself. First thing massage therapists can use to improve the scent is through aroma therapy candles. The use of scented massage oils is perhaps the best way to incorporate the sense of smell to the environment of massage. It is within close proximity to your body and hence it is absorbed faster through the skin and the nose.

The nose is also one of the major components of our sense of taste. Although you do not put the oils directly in your mouth you still taste it through your nose. Of course, the tea at the end of the massage is an important punctuation to a sensual massage experience.

Finally, the massage is mostly about the sense of touch. A massage is most effective when the person receiving it is feeling the slow, loving strokes. Each stroke if done right will hold together the most sensual experience you will ever be part of. All five senses, stimulated to give you an experience you would not soon forget.
