Snowboarding had only been a dream. . .

Jorge came all the way from warm Florida to experience a National Camps for Blind Children’s winter camp.  NCBC began 40 years ago in 1967.  And winter camps had their beginning in 1980.

Jorge wasn’t always blind.  At five years old, he was hit by a car while crossing the street.  He spent about a year in a hospital.   Later he was able to attend a blind school about six hours away from his home.

“I always wanted to try snowboarding,” Jorge said excitedly.   Snowboarding had been only a dream for this young man from Florida.   Now he can boast about his new accomplishment.

“Camp means having fun, meeting and making friends, having a good time, and doing new activities,” stated Jorge.  “Thank you to all for allowing us to enjoy this experience.  I really appreciate it a lot whether you are able to give a little bit or a lot.”
